Hello again, people!

I'm sorry I was away for a while. You probably remember me telling you I was almost hacked? Well, I was. And like I told you, I was able to prevent the hacker from getting a hold of my account. Problem solved, right? WRONG!

Turns out, when trying to log in on the following day, I was no longer able to. Tried to retrieve my password, an error occurs. Now I'm left baffeled. Looking into things, I discovered dA had disabled my account as a security measure, so I'd need to contact them to get the access back. So, I send deviantArt an e-mail and then I waited... for days, only to hear nothing back. After waiting for 5 days, I send another e-mail. This time, I receive back an automatic response that stated my message had been received. Oh yay, I'd waited for 5 days just because my message hadn't gone through the last time? Splendid...
Well, thankfully it didn't even take a day for them to answer. They requested some additional info to verify it's indeed me and I sent them my answer back the same evening. Only this time, I'd again wait for several days and get no answer. I sent another message with the same info. Again, nothing. Only finally now, today, after having sent in the same info the day before for a third time, they finally contacted me back and restored my account. The guy said he didn't have access to the internet or something for a while, so thus the wait...

In any case, just wanted to let you know I'm BACK and shall most definitely be more careful from now on whenever I see an uncalled log-in screen again!

I'm so stupid! DX I was almost HACKED!!

Yeah, you read it right, people. I can't believe it, I'm so freaking stupid.

I saw a picture here that definitely needed to be reported, so I did. The description read stupid crap about this "association" hacking dA, and they did, it would seem. They were very crude about it, too. So, to see who was hacked, I STUPIDLY clicked their account name. Now what happens, you won't guess... YES, the fake log-in screen AND I FREAKING FELL FOR IT!!!

Look. I take myself as a very smart person, who should know better. AND I DO know better. But for reasons, my attention was not as sharp as it normally would be and -I still can't believe I fell for it- I provided them with my account name and password which obviously didn't lead me anywhere. THANK GOD I then clicked the main dA page open and realised that I was already logged in, so it took only a split second to realise what had happened and I PANICKED and went to change my password immediately. THANK GOD I did it on time, so they can no longer hack into my account. BUT IT WAS LIKE *THIS* close, man! I can't believe this happened. I'm SO EMBARRASSED right now, you guys have no idea.

So in order to warn all of you! I KNOW how ANNOYING messages like this are. HACKER ON LOOSE, do this and that to avoid. But now I was personally reminded how important the warnings are and even the *ahem* best of us can become the hackers' victims. So, AVOID ALL suspicious looking accounts! If you see a picture that's not supposed to be here, report it but that's it. DO NOT click their account name. If you did and got the fake log in screen (you know it's fake by looking at the web address, it's nothing like deviantart.com, it's something ending in .de) you're still safe. Just click the link in your favorites to get back to deviantart or whatever. Close the browser and type the dA adress works too. AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT TYPE YOUR LOG-IN INFO IN THE FAKE LOG-IN PAGE. I -and I repeat- am like you, someone who should know better and I still fell for it, so you might as well. But if you did, do like I did and *immediately* change your password in the personal settings.

I can only guess what might have happened, had I been late to change my password. I might have lost everything in my account forever, who knows. At least I wouldn't have been able to log-in in a while and God knows what profanities they might have done on my page. Harrassed you people, etc... DX

I'm just super relieved right now that they didn't get me. So be careful out there!
